Magsafe Compatibility

MagSafe uses magnets embedded in your iPhone to attach accessories. The iPhone Pocket's fabric creates a small gap between your phone and MagSafe accessories. This gap weakens the magnetic connection—not enough to prevent attachment, but enough that you'll notice. Think of it like this: MagSafe through the pocket works at about 60-70% strength compared to direct contact.

MagSafe charging doesn't work well through the iPhone Pocket. The fabric layer reduces charging efficiency significantly, and the charger may not attach securely enough to maintain connection. For MagSafe charging, remove your phone from the pocket. This takes two seconds and ensures proper charging. The pocket's expandable opening makes removal and insertion quick and easy.

MagSafe wallets attach through the pocket, but hold less securely. For stationary use (phone on desk with wallet attached), it works fine. For active use (walking around with wallet attached), the connection may not be secure enough. If you want to use a MagSafe wallet, attach it before placing your phone in the pocket—this creates a more secure configuration with the wallet inside the pocket too.

MagSafe battery packs are too heavy to attach securely through the fabric. The magnetic connection isn't strong enough to support the battery's weight during movement. For charging on the go, remove your phone from the pocket, attach the battery, and carry both together. Alternatively, use a USB-C cable for charging while your phone stays in the pocket.

Car mounts don't work through the pocket—the magnetic connection isn't strong enough to hold your phone securely during driving. For car use, remove your phone from the pocket and mount it directly. Keep the pocket in your cup holder or center console. When you arrive, slip your phone back in the pocket. This workflow becomes automatic quickly.

Most iPhone Pocket users adopt this workflow: wear the pocket for carrying and protection, remove the phone for MagSafe accessories when needed. The pocket's design makes this easy—the expandable opening means quick access. You're not fumbling with zippers or snaps. This approach gives you the best of both worlds: elegant carrying solution plus full MagSafe functionality when you need it.

For some accessories, you can attach them to your phone first, then place both in the pocket together. This works for thin MagSafe wallets or PopSockets. The pocket's expandable design accommodates the extra thickness. This approach maintains the magnetic connection while keeping everything in the pocket. Just be aware this adds bulk and may affect how the pocket hangs.
